The City of Rector is starting to regain some normal activitiy as we emerge from the Ice Storm on '09. As we enter into the final stages of completing the debris clean-up, the City Council took bids on debris cleanup and hanger removal for the remaining cleanup and entered into a contract with Crowder Distaster Recovery from Tallahassee, Florida. On April 1, Crowder rolled into town with 5 knuckle-boom trucks and 1 bucket truck to start the clean-up. In just a matter of a few days the town could see a dramatic difference in the amount of debris that had been removed. As of, Tuesday, April 8, the first phase of the pick-up had been completed. At the April 6 city council meeting, the council members decided that April 19, 2009 wouldl be the last day to put out debris. On Monday, April 20, 2009, Crowder will return to make a final pickup throughout town. This will give residents a few more days to bring any more debris to the curb.
