Rector Public Schools

The Rector Public School system is a vital part of our community.

The district currently employs approximately 130 personnel, including substitutes.

The Rector School District encompasses 179 square miles and has a total enrollment of 620 students in grades K-12. The new Rector Preschool serves 85 pre-K children and has been well-received by the community.

In addition to the preschool, other recent building projects include the construction of a new physical education-classroom facility and renovation of the administration office complex. Major improvements also were made to the high school building. The new physical education facility was constructed in a manner that will enable the district to host regional and state basketball tournaments. Rector High School hosted the Northeast Regional Tournament at the new facility in the spring of 2007.

The district's annual budget is slightly more than $4 million. Starting salary for teachers is $31,305 for a bachelor's degree and $34,505 for a master's degree.

Administrators are Rob Louder, superintendent; Wade Williams, high school principal, and Johnny Fowler, elementary principal. School board members are Dale Vangilder, Gregg Sain, James Turner, Jim Speer and Michael Lindsey.
